In the CÉVENNES, in Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu, the Saint-Sauveur church 19th century.

_ The CÉVENNES are mountains, part of the Massif-Central, extending in the districts of Lozère and Gard, whose culminating points are the peak of Finiels in Lozère to 1699 m, the AIGOUAL MOUNT in Gard with 1567 m.

_ The MOUNT AIGOUAL is a granitic mountain, culminating point to 1567 m of Gard and second culminating point of Lozere after the mount Lozere 1699 m, is a south-eastern projection of the Massif-Central mountain. It is remarkable by its panorama, its climatology. In clear weather, one discovers on 300 km of ray, the Mediterranean, the mount Lozere, the Mounts of the Cantal, the Pyrenees, the Alps.
One discovers there the top close of Portalet of 1565 m, and of course the large causses and the surrounding Cevennes.
The watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean crosses the summit part. Several rivers take there their source of which Herault.

SAINT-SAUVEUR-CAMPRIEU is a French commune, located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 270 Candrivains in 2009, distributed on 31.7 km², that is to say 8.5 hab./km².

Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu history.

Near the Mount-Aigoual, to 1100 m of altitude, the village has a climate of medium mountains, and is surrounded by an immense forest of conifers and beeches.

The village of Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu is less known than his natural site: the Abîme de BRAMABIAU.
_ A small brook named Bonheur, (happiness), resulting from a source close to the Pass of Serreyrède not far from the Mount-Aigoual, is lost after a course of 5 km, in Causse of Camprieu in several underground courses of a few kilometers, before arising with the free air by a 70 m height diaclase. It then takes the name of "Bramabiau", the ox which slab, (le "boeuf qui brame" in occitan), to point out the deaf noise of water leaving the breach.
_ It is in Bramabiau that with its team, Edouard-Alfred MARTEL, 1859-1938, its career of speleologist started, exploring the cave in the night from the 27 to June 28, 1888.

Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu is in the Parc National des Cévennes.
