Above the village of Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, the "ROC of TRAS CASTEL".

The "ROC of TRAS CASTEL" is one appreciated climbing site.

The construction of CASTLE of BAULX begins in 12th century. Taking advantage of the dominance of the rocky peak, backed by the Roc de Tras Castel, a watchtower evolved from the 13th to the 14th century to a fortress of which remain today the dungeon, a main building, towers and walls.
The castle then fell into the hands of some owners of high degree, before being given to the city hall in 1987, what allowed the launch in 1990 of works of saving and restoration, and series of historic excavations.

_ Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, overlooked by Séranne mountain, 940 m with highest, and causse of the Selle, is an authentic medieval village, nested in the valley of THE BUÈGES which crosses also the villages of Pégairolles-de-Buèges, Saint-Jean-de-Buèges and Saint-Andre-de-Buèges.
It is a place splendid and quiet, no surge of mass, it is the field of the amateurs of nature, uneven and beautiful images. One takes there also time to live on the terrace of single and small tavern of the valley.

_ The BUÈGES river, takes its source from a karstic resurgence, near the hamlet of Méjanel, draining part of water of the Séranne mountain and of yhe CAUSSE OF LARZAC. It throws in the river Herault after a 12 km length course, of which a few kilometers in the basement of rocks limestones, reappearing only by abundant rain. Overlooked by the Séranne mountain 940 m highest, and the causse of the Selle, its valley cut in the rock is a true haven of peace, paradise of strolls and the excursion. SAINT-JEAN-DE-BUÈGES is a french commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 201 Saint-Jeannais in 2009, distributed on 16.9 km², that is to say 11.9 hab./km².

_ Vassal of the baronnie of Pégairolles, the seigniory of "Saint-Jean-de-Buèges" appears in the texts into 990.

Hi Joël,
This is indeed a very beautiful part of France! I really like the way you have combined the lightbrown colours of the road with the grey-green hill in the background. I also like the line along the road, parallel to the slope of the background hill. They are forming good diagonals in the composition. A very attractive springtime picture.

Interesting shape this craggy mountain peak. The path makes a good lead line and contrasts well with the surroundings. A nicely lit image with good colours and clarity. Desolé, pas plus de visages vertes. Bon weekend.

Bonsoir Joël,

Sur la vignette, la lumière et la végétation me semblaient printanières, j'avais vu juste, on peut même distinguer quelques coquelicots ! Le chemin invite à poursuivre la balade, face à ce "roc" bien cadré... La lumière et le ciel nuageux sont superbes !

Bonsoir Joël,

Le chemin de terre envoie mon regard vers la montagne ce qui donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la montagne. La qualité de la lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

I like the parallel angles of the fg path & the bg peak. Good lead in lines & perspective with the upwardly curving dirt track. Excellent sharpness and nice graphism of the dark bg peak against the bright blue sky. A good exposure on the highlights with no appreciable oe. Merci!

D'image exceptionnelle avec ce superbe paysage, ce qui donne une grande force à la composition, ce pic rocheux robuste, belle perspective donne le chemin en remontant la pente, ces arbustes ornent précieux comme un terrain difficile, le ciel merveilleux, c'est un excellent complément.

Hello Joel,

You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the huge rock on mountain top. It's effectve for the mountain road with winding and slope toward up-direction, too. The whole is harmonized well by the comfortable nature of the mountain, the greenery and the spring sky.

Bonjour à nouveau,
le ciel bellement décoré avec quelques nuages très photogéniques, et sa couleur profonde bleue, c'est une partie très importante dans la qualité esthétique de ta composition.
Mais j'aime aussi le paysage magnifique de la montagne et la perspective du chemin, qui augmente la beauté de ce travail.

J'ai loupé ce coin en septembre dernier, je n'étais pas loin su côté du Cirque de Navacelles. Hélas le ciel était plombé
Un beau point de vue qui guide le regard vers la roche qui fait penser un peu au Mont Aiguille en plus petit.
