Like movies, crusaders and Templars with their chainmail during the sixth edition of the Médiévales, festival in Saint-Jean-de-Buèges.

No claim or assertion in this day, but rather the desire to have a good time in a calmed atmosphere and good-natured.

_ Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, overlooked by Séranne mountain, 940 m with highest, and causse of the Selle, is an authentic medieval village, nested in the valley of THE BUÈGES which crosses also the villages of Pégairolles-de-Buèges, Saint-Jean-de-Buèges and Saint-Andre-de-Buèges.
It is a place splendid and quiet, no surge of mass, it is the field of the amateurs of nature, uneven and beautiful images. One takes there also time to live on the terrace of single and small tavern of the valley.

_ The BUÈGES river, takes its source from a karstic resurgence, near the hamlet of Méjanel, draining part of water of the Séranne mountain and of the CAUSSE OF LARZAC. It throws in the Herault river after a 12 km length course, of which a few kilometers in the basement of rocks limestones, reappearing only by abundant rain. Overlooked by the Séranne mountain 940 m highest, and the causse of the Selle, its valley cut in the rock is a true haven of peace, paradise of strolls and the excursion. SAINT-JEAN-DE-BUÈGES is a french commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 201 Saint-Jeannais in 2009, distributed on 16.9 km², that is to say 11.9 hab./km².

_ Vassal of the baronnie of Pégairolles, the seigniory of "Saint-Jean-de-Buèges" appears in the texts into 990.
The construction of the castle of Baulx begin at XIIème century. Using the dominant position of the piton rock, leaned with the Roc de Tras Castel, it was initially a station of monitoring. A main tower evolved of XIIIème in XIVème century to a true fortress of which remain today the keep, a main building, towers and an enclosure.
The castle passed to the hands of some propriètaires of noble lineage or being used as protection in 1703 with the population terrorized by the camisards.
In 1987, a gift of the last owner to the town hall allows launching into 1990 of work of safeguard and restoration parallélement some historical excavation campaigns intended to specify the provision of the rebuildings. Work began in 1991.

Probablement que le porteur de l'épée n'aime pas trop la voix de l'homme au micro.Dans tous les cas, ils semblent avoir beaucoup de plaisir et un regard complice.

I like this vintage Medieval post. The only anachronism is in the wireless microphone, but it could just be a Medieval ice cream cone that the knight is eating. There is the danger from that sword, however. He is about to lose his mike, and his head...

Bonsoir Joël,

Félicitations pour ta 1700ème photo, je n'en ai que 1000 de retard ! J'aime bien ta série sur ces reconstitutions historiques, les chevaliers sont plus vrais que nature, en plus, quand on perd un combat, on a le droit de plaider sa cause en prenant le micro ;0)

Hi Joël,
I am sure these re-enactors enjoy themselves immensely here! We know a person here who is also re-enactments, but the end of the 18th century. These men add very good colours and also a very sharp diagonal line. Interesting additional pictures and note!

A vrai dire j'aime bien la photo de ça va saigner
Les figurants sont bien isolés de la foule; ce n'était pas le cas à Gruissan cette année, je n'ai pas pris de photos.
J'apprécie beaucoup ta documentation.

Hello Joel,

You're capturing well this this portrait in festival by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the medieval knight's clothes and long sword. It's interesting in clothe's design with red/white colors and black animal in center as well as the armor of right knight, too.

Bien vu le titre, et chapeau pour les 1700 photos et tout ce qui va avec.....Belle assiduité et participation au site malgré tous les incidents de parcours! Ils y croient tes templiers et font plus vrais que nature (micro mis à part). Trois bonnes photos de ces médiévales.

Je pense que le barbare de gauche était intrigué par le photographe et un petit décalage rapide de la bécane à pixels aurait pu déclencher un mouvement imprévu de ce "décapiteur".
Où serait allé le micro?
Beau rendu contrasté avec le rouge.

Bonjour, cher ami Joël,
cette prise est très sympathique et fraîche, avec l'attitude de ces deux guerriers, l'un avec une grande épée et l'autre avec un micro.
Mais après avoir vu les WS, nous nous rendons compte de l'activité de ces Médiévales, en remémorant des moments historiques pour le divertissement des visiteurs.
La photo a une grande netteté, une lumière très bien traitée et des couleurs rendues parfaitement, tu as obtenu un résultat excellent.
Un bon travail.
