Photographer’s Note

Is it a consequence of the economic crisis ? Is it because of an argument with Mother Christmas ? Is it the sadness to have finished his worldwide round and to wait 12 long months before the next one ? I didn't dare to ask when I met him in Nîmes, I just made a shot in shadowy light of dusk. But poor Father Christmas looked in a really bad mood...

I love the setting Marion and the way you have retained the crispness and neatness of this shot. The etxture of the furnitire are wonderful and so is the dismay on the face of father christmas!

who knows why Father Christmas looks so sad? I can't guess it but I can appreciate a very good photo :) Excellent composition, very good colours.
It's both funny and a little sad at the same time..

Pretty funny shot indeed. The color of Santa's outfit and that of the chairs fit well together and I like where you've placed him within the frame. The upper right corner really is the perfect spot for him.

Hello Marion, Yes he is looking very said, perhaps he knows that within several days he would be locked up in cellar or wardrobe for another 12 months, ;-), wait a minute now I see his table is empty, so there more questions, he is alone?, where is the food?. etc,
When I first looked at this it was the colour & sharpness that caught my attention, the light is also good & Father Christmas is well placed in the frame. well done.
