Photographer's Note

Pierresvives is a plan of the Department of Hérault. On a 10 hectare plot located in Montpellier, in the junction of Paillade, Malbosc and Alco, a building of utility in Héraultais and a new quarter will come into the world in 2012.

Around the building, the Department does up a new quarter consisting of accommodation, trade, services, offices, activities and equipment.

The eponymous building pierresvives, conceived by the architect Zaha Hadid, will shelter from his part the departmental Archives of Hérault, the departmental Multimedia library and Hérault Sport: 60 km of archives to be kept in a drastic way (some people date from the Xth century) within concrete silos assuring a hygrometry and a temperature controlled; about 300 000 works (pounds, CD, DVD), an amphitheatre, rooms of exhibition, a will asserted to hire these departmental services in numerical revolution …

Hello Jean philippe,

Merci de nous faire découvrir ce superbe geste architectural qui va confirmer Montpellier en tant que ville qui sait aller de l'avant avec hardiesse juste ce qu'il faut de "démesure" voire de mégalomanie.
Ta présentation du bâtiment nous fait penser à un de ces paquebots de croisière moderne.Sauf que ces paquebots du point de vue de l'architecture navale sont nuls, ce qui n'est pas le cas de ce bâtiment terrestre de verre et de béton.

Superbe photo avec un point de vue très bien choisi pour mettre en avant la perspective et l'architecture.
Ce bâtiment est exceptionnel et il m'a impressionné un jour que je passais devant alors en pleine construction.
Malgré le temps gris la lumière est très bonne. La netteté est excellente. Félicitations.

beautiful,modern architecture.Excellently captured and presented in your photo.Despite cloudy sky and poor light you were able to bring out so many details of the building in best quality.Also colors and contrast are excellent.Magnificent composition!
