In Marseillan, the Onglous lighthouse and entry canal du Midi, the ÉTANG DE THAU, the Saint-Clair mount on which is built the city of Sète.

_ The ÉTANG DE THAU is a littoral lagoon that a sand cord, connecting Sète to Cape-d'Agde, separates from the Mediterranean, with which it communicates, by the graus of "Pisse-Saume" and of "la Quinzaine" at Marseillan-Plage, and channels of Sète. Its 7500 hectares extend over the maximum length from 19 km, for a minimal width of 1300 m. It is the largest and deepest of the Languedocien ponds. Of an average depth of 4,5 m, 1/3 of the funds exceed 5,50 m. On place of the resurgence under-crossbred of Vise, near Balaruc-les-Bains, it reaches 30 m. The pond receives sea water thus, but also great quantities of fresh water by sources and brooks, medium favorable to the production of phytoplankton.
Since 1875, the shellfish farming developed, mytiliculture and ostreiculture, 2.000 people employed by 600 establishments produce 12.000 tons of oysters and moulds per annum. The production is ensured according to a technique known as of supspension, with support called tables. One finds thus from 2500 to 3000 mesh wires, which support via cords, the seed oysters of moulds or oysters.
_The étang de Thau ensures the junction between the canal du Rhône à Sète, and the canal du Midi, connecting them in fact to the sea.

MARSEILLAN is a french commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 7996 Marseillanais in 2009, distributed out of 51.7 km², that is to say 154.6 hab./km².

Une composition bien équilibrée , colorée , avec le petit phare au point fort de l'image , et de jolis nuages qui ornent bien le ciel .

uno scorcio molto diverso dai porticcioli della Costa Azzurra, qui è tutto molto naturale, senza troppi fronzoli.
Il bel faro spicca sulla panoramica e le barche fanno da ottimi soggetti.

An agreeably lit well composed image. The lighthouse is well placed off-centre and is nicely mirrored by the masts of the foreground boats that help give the image depth. The attractive sky contributes to the mood of the shot. Very good technical presentation. Bravo!

Bonjour Joël,

La distance entre le phare et la rive opposée donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du phare et des bateaux. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Très sympa ce port de plaisance, ce qui donne une impression de tranquillité et de la sérénité de cet endroit charmant. Très beau POV avec le phare et ce groupe de voiliers ancrés à la rive.
Lumière très bonne et charmante qui donne une belle gamme de couleurs.

c'est énervant de découvrir une aussi belle lumière et un temps aussi dégagé en cette fin de janvier alors que dans le nord tout est gris !

This is a beautifully composed picture! The four masts are centrally positiond and the lighthouse with its red top is placed at the third. I was surprised to see this this photo was taken around a week ago, for me this is a pleasant summer view!

This origional version I like more than two photos in the workshop, although all of them are very interesting and aesthetic. The yellow boat looks contrasting and colorful against the blues of the sea and the sky. The white, black and red compositional elements make the scene even more colorful and interesting. Excellently composed, masterfully captured and informatively commented!

The small peninsula made a division in the sea on picture, and with the addition of the light-tower and boats anchored, the result is a nice place to look at.
Yellow boat attract the view, and 4 high masts employ picture space in full.
