Photographer’s Note

I did not stop showing you all my photos of the Venice’s meeting but I am going to alternate with this place.

The pond of Thau (Etang de Thau) is the most vast and deepest ponds of Languedoc. It extends from Balaruc to Marseillan (20km), by way of Sète. The culture of oysters and mussels, towards Mèze and Bouzigues, made work numerous traditional fishermen. Half of the French production of oysters is native of the lagoon of Thau.
The pond of Thau conceals an exceptional biodiversity. The canal du Midi results in the pond of Thau to Marseillan. Numerous sailing clubs settled down on the banks of the pond and allow to get acquainted with the navigation.
It is on a small peninsula of the pond ear the arrival of the Canal du Midid that I have just spent a fantastic week between sea and ground, to observe the changeable lights, the sailboats and the uncountable birds.
One small part of paradise forgotten by the property developers of the coast.

bonne idée que ce cliché avec les planches à voiles en arrières plan en alternance avec les piquets à moules je pense

Bonsoir Diane,

I particularly like your composition using the rule of thirds and, where the main images are, unusually, in the b/g. The diagonal line of sticks makes a fine lead towards the boats.

Ciao carissima Diane,
solo una brava fotografa, con tanta esperienza, può fare una foto così bella, giocando stupendamente con le prospettive ed i colori. Le sette vele gialle e blu contrastano magnificamente con i colori soft del cielo e dell'acqua creando una composizione assolutamente piacevole. Sei veramente brava!

Very neat and crispp..like how the shoreline and the stilts from the water seem to meet against the line of blue boats...good sense of proportions and the presentation steals it away..

Something that i would have on my wall...simple but defining

Voilà un joli spot lumineux jaune dans une grande déclinaison de gris-bleus...le tout parfaitement rythmé par la série de verticales en diagonale.
C'est bien construit et rendu, joli travail.

un cadrage bien trouvé ou ces petits bateaux trés colorés donnent le contraste dans cette photo trés uniforme dans les teintes de gris, j'attend la suite qui promet

Bonjour Diane,
Arrivant dans les derniers, comme d'habitude, je n'ai rien à dire qui n'ai été dit. Une composition bien vue, des couleurs qui rendent bien l'atmosphère sereine de cet étang avec juste les taches de couleurs de ces petits dériveurs qui paraissent naviguer sereinement.
Le coin paraît superbe, pas de flamants roses dans les parages ??

Je vois que tu profites de tes vacances et que tu reviens un temps au classisisme !
Une belle perspective et des voiles qui donnent de la couleur à l'ensemble; sans celà l'ensemble aueait été un peu terne.

Bonjour Diane,

Dommage que tu n aies pas eu un point de vue plus elevé pour mieux exploiter la ligne de piquets et empecher la juxtaposition avec les deriveurs.
Dommage surtout, car j aime beaucoup l idée de cette photo qui dans un environnement sombre et presque monochrome fait ressortir de maniere vive les voiles qui attirent le regard.

I really like this shot, it feels so clean, crisp and light, and for some reason reminds me of Japanese ink drawings, probably because of the emphasis on lines and patterns. perfect timing to capture the sailboats just in the right place, great shot.

Bella, esseziale, colori eleganti. Dal Thumbnail sembrava una visione della laguna veneziana, poi le barche hanno fatto al differenza.
Perdonami se non sono sempre qui, ho pochissimo tempo, ma ti seguo e guardo il tuo lavoro.

je rejoins le point de vue de Sevy en ce qui concerne la superposition mais bon ; pas facile de faire l'équilibre sur un piquet ;o)

Bonjour Diane,

J'ai passé mes vacances de l'année 2007 au bord de cet étang! C'était à Mèze. Par contre Tes poteaux me font penser fortement à Venise! Leur alignement et celui des planchistes font un joli contrepoint.
