In la Grande-Motte, The absence of wind, the soft temperature, the sun, the calm sea, attracted number of inhabitants of the hinterland, and have made happy the still present tourists.

La Grande-Motte is a sea resort and a marina, built from 1960 till the end of 1970s. The resort is known for its pyramidal architecture, and renowned for its period of sunshine.

LA GRANDE-MOTTE is a french commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 8 391 Grand-Mottois in 2009, distributed on 10.6 km², that is to say 793.6 hab./km².

The municipality is near the parc naturel régional de Camargue.
