Photographer's Note

This one's a reply, or homage to an image posted yesterday by Malgorzata (Siudzi). Gruissan Plage is a wide, wind-blown beach with rows of holiday cottages on stilts behind. It was chosen as the location for the early scenes of the French film "Betty Blue" (1986) starring Jean-Hugues Anglade and Béatrice Dalle. It's not, frankly, a particularly scenic location: flat French working class beach holiday location with sailing and windsurfing and some fly-blown cafes... But my kids enjoyed their day on the beach (the sea was freezing!), and I was able to grab this minimalist image which omitted all the "stuff" around.
