Beautiful cars of first half of the 20th century and smart ladies of the beginning of the century.

It was one time, where people had a little pride, and liked to get dressed elegantly…

In 2009 took place, in Ganges, the third manifestion festive “Ganges 1900”.

For the occasion, one reconstitutes show windows of time of the stores, a post office, a classroom where the certificate of studies is passed by again, one attends a marriage in Town hall, one ressuscite defunct occupations, harnessed or mechanics transports, one extinguishes a fire with a hand pump, one sit down at the terraces of the cafés, being served by well-trained boys, one makes turns of horse-gear, one attends exhibitions, demonstrations and spectacles, like meetings of tambourin, a local sport of exchange of ball, one plays bowls, one takes part in a large banquet, one drinks, one laughs, one dances with the sound of the accordion and the barrel organ. To create environment nearly 400 volunteers rents clothing of time with which they get dressed with an unutterable pleasure.

The Belle Époque Time is designation, given after the First World War, at the quasi mythical period 1890-1914 which created the image of the French who like to live.

Ganges is a french commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 3502 Gangeois in 1999, distributed out of 7 km², that is to say 480 hab./km².

Ganges is an old capital of the luxury stockings, and old capital héraultaise of silk.
The city is between the buttresses of the Cevennes and the solid mass of Séranne.

Hello Joël,
A very expressive title. A nice capture of this little group, which perfectly suits the black and white treatment. I like the close framing and the happy expressions. A good range of tones with excellent sharpness.

Tu as bien capturé l'expression heureuse des personnes qui voyagent dans la vieille voiture, un souvenir du début du 20ième siècle. La prise de vue permet voir les détails des costumes. Bon weekend.

l'option par le noire et le blanc laisse image avec un aspect nostalgique très intéressant. Je reste avec l'impression dont tu il a sauvé celui-là du passé. J'aime le naturel de scène et comme tu il a composé. Excellent!

Graondiso iamge nostagique le Nb s'impose dans cette belle image, on se croirtait vraimetn à l'époque, avec les belle ombrees, les costumres, fantastique.

Belle idée d'avoir utilisé le noir et blanc qui convient évidemment parfaitement à l'évènement. joli cadrage et belle qualité de noir et blanc (quel posttraitement utilises-tu pour obtenir de si beaux blancs...et noirs?)

Bonjour Joël,

L'usage du N&B apportent une touche supplémentaire qui donne un air de Belle Epoque. Contrastes bien marqués et bine captés. J'aime beaucoup ton cadrage qui insite sur les personnages.

j'aime beaucoup cette scène,et le noir et blanc lui va très bien!il y a une très belle luminosité qui donne beaucoup d'éclat à la photo et la rend très belle!Superbe!

la lumiere est un peu dure mais l'ambiance de cette manifestation reste intacte, le retour en arriere est garantit lors de ces journées 1900.

cette photo retrace bien cette période et de plus en noir et blanc, (bien sur d'après les photos vues à cette époque car je n'étais pas née...sourires) mais certes l'élégance était présente, ces voitures anciennes, un délice de les retrouver et ces femmes avec leur parapluie, celà devait être une belle journée des années là comme ta photo nous le démontre

Les dames de derriere sont le point de ton attraction. Elles sont tres bien disposees qu'elles peuvent etre le sujet a part avec un cadrage. Je regrette un peu les couleurs. C'est beau et joyeux. Merci Joel,

This old fashioned scene needs Black & White. It is like a reportage from the time between the two world wars.
A picture in the local newspaper of the visit of some beautiful celebrities to the city .
