Fanjeaux (Occitan: Fanjaus) is a picturesque village and commune in the Aude department in southern France. It is located west of Carcassonne. Between 1206 and 1215, Fanjeaux was the home of Saint Dominic, the founder of the Roman Catholic Church's Dominican Order.

There are many beautiful villages in France. This is very nice and seems deserted. A bit spooky atmosphere. I like the stony pavement and the small cross covered with the moss.

This is a nice, textured close-up.
You have chosen a great spot for your photograph, the cross strongly positioned and linking well to the curved curb, to lead into the b/g.
I love to see the shutters on the windows. They are such an attractive and very effective feature.
Have a lovely day,

a beautifully constructed composition that is both compelling and enticing. Love the irresistible sweep of the road and the glorious textures here in this wonderful shot. Superb clarity and an image full of grace and character. Love it!

The moss encrusted stone cross at right adds mood and character. I loike the curving kerb at left and its diagonal straight line which adds both dynamism and lead in lines and linear perspective. The diffused light and soft pastel colours work well here. Good sharpness. Tfs!

I rather enjoy the curve that leads nicely past the cross into the frame , and would agree with Bev that the shutters do add an interest to the quiet scene.
The muted tones are a delight.

Like Malgo, I find this scene a little spooky, which is really cool, I love a good spooky scene. I think the lack of people combined with that rather ancient looking cross creates this effect, and your composition causes the road to draw the eye right in, and into the shadows. Great shot, nicely dramatic.
All the best

It seems as if time has stood still here Stephen. No real sign of modern living apart from the 2 electric lights. The cross on the corner adds to the feel. Excellent textures and a quiet simplicity here which is the way I imagine the people who live in this lane to live too. Have a fine weekend Rosemary

Ciao e buona serata

Very fine street corner. I like the charming atmosphere and the old rustic architecture. Good catch, enjoy a fine weekend.

in this picture I like very much how the curvy perspective enters the frame and then joins its dynamism with the row of buildings on the left side of the street. The style of the buildings is plain but picturesque, the textures are very intriguing. The humble monument on the corner of the street has a surprising and attractive position in the frame. The neighbourhood is deserted and this fact combined with moody lighting and subdued colours makes the scenery look thrillingly eerie. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely Sunday,
