A view of the Church of the Assumption, the parish church of Fanjeaux. The enclosed surroundings necessitated a stitch of three horizontal images. I am aware of some distortion that I have been unable to fully correct. I hope this does not unduly spoil your enjoyment of the picture.
Fanjeaux (Occitan: Fanjaus) is a picturesque village and commune in the Aude department in southern France. It is located west of Carcassonne. Between 1206 and 1215, Fanjeaux was the home of Saint Dominic, the founder of the Roman Catholic Church's Dominican Order.

C.est tellement dommage d'arriver à un endroit pour photographier quelque chose et que la lumière ne soit pas au rendez-vous et que le ciel est d'un gris trop uniforme.

magnificent church. Such wonderful texturing and a striking POV. The height and beauty of this old building is accentuated perfectly in this amazing shot. Irresistible and eye-catching.

Excellent POV and composition showing the beautiful church of the Assumption in Fanjeaux. Beautiful sacred building with stone blocks.

That's a bizarre design for a church, I've never seen a tower like this before, more like something from a Gothic fairytale castle that a church. And nice combination of this tower with the very ancient Romanesque style entrance too. Great building and shot, I would not have known this was stitched, really nicely done.
All the best

here is a beautiful church and you presented it nicely. Sky is a bit less interesting but you can show every details of the church wall by this soft light. A nice one. Tfs.

I have looked at this for several seconds and just cannot think of any other church that I have seen which fits this style. It is most unusual.
I like how you have given us this view of the doorway, to demonstrate the immense depth by the diminishing arches.
The bell tower appears closed and redundant until you notice that the shutters can be opened!
A sharply textured, very unusual church.
Have a great day,

A good upward pov on the stone tower with attractive pastel colours and excellent sharpness and diffused lighting. The green moss and lichens encrusted on the stone add interest. The curving fg nicely lead the eye around in a semi circle. Tfs!

Interesting architecture of this impressive old church. Really original and unique construction very well observed and presented with an elegant composition. Good level of details and sharpness achieved. Well done!
