Photographer's Note

Collioure is the symbol of the old lighthouse of the port became bell tower of the church of Notre Dame des Anges, of which you can see from afar the pink dome. Collioure, Catalan gem of France on the Côte Vermeille, has a pretty harbor bathed in sunshine, boats variopinte. All 'beginning of '900, the deep blue of the sea and of the sky has attracted the painters of pure color, the so-called Fauves, like Derain, Braque and Matisse who met in 1910 in this area, attracted by the purity of its light. In the wake of the Fauves, Picasso and Foujita stayed in Collioure and painted in numerous paintings. The views painted by these artists can be admired along the "path of Fauvism" near the old port, consisting of 20 stages, indicated by the reproduction of a painting.
