Photographer’s Note

Early in the morning in Collioure ...
The frequenters enjoy their beach while holiday-makers are still sleeping, or walking to the weekly local market.
A beautiful day ahead. At 9:30 am, it is not too hot, and water has the ideal temperature. A good opportunity to sit at the water's edge and admire the medieval fortress and its delicate reflection.
In the morning, the atmosphere on the pebbly beach is very nice. People know each other, greet, swim together... A life full of little habits.

For Fauvist painters, "there is no bluer sky in France than in Collioure...", they sometimes wrong. But I find these clouds more interesting !

Un bien joli point de vue de la palge de Collioure , avec une belle courbe qui mène le regard vers la citadelle . Superbe lumière en cette matinée , et l'heure idéale pour se baigner , c'est sûr .

une compo classique et efficace avec une courbe qui mène dans l'arrière-plan. La présence humaine ajoute un peu de vie. C'est bien fait.

Bonjour Karine,

J espere que tu as demandé a la madame avant de la photographier pendant son bain de siege.
Il m est arrivé de faire des autoportraits sur cette idée (pas celle du bain de siege) en posant l appareil sur trepied et en courant vite me mettre en position apres avoir enclencher le retardateur.
Pour le ciel, je suis d accord avec toi, un peu de nuage ne nuit pas et ce n est pas Barni qui me contredira.

tu nous présentes là un POV pas beaucoup posté sur TE un cadrage qui met en valeur cette pklage toute en courbe, sous une lumière du sud, calme et reposante cette photo

Bonjour Karine,

Vraiment un très bel endroit et une belle image pleine de sérénité. Une très belle profondeur de cahmp, une compositiona gréable organisée autour de la courbe tracée par le rivage, de belles couleurs et de somptueux reflets. Que peut=on demander de mieux ?

That's a lovely, pleasant and beautiful picture!
Sharpness, exposure and natural colors are excellent!
The point of view was very well chosen and the composition quite successful! The medieval fortress, its reflection on the water surface, the sky and the little mermaid were all so wonderfully placed in the frame and they truly look so attractive!

I did not hear about that Fauvist quotation before and it is something that speaks clear about that region and some of their villages because light and colours there a well as the glassy waters and backwaters , the quiet sea atmosphere and Historical buildings integrated with the Nature make one feel as if staying in the true paradise . It just come up to my head the name of some of those villages and despite they are featured with different traits ( white washed Cadaques , wild Port de la Selva , quiet Cerbere , medieval Collioure ,... ) , they all represent a common cathegory in which pureness , breeze , Mediterraneanship , pine tree smell and other fragrancies and the wonderful Fauvist lights are just unique !

The woman´s presence gives a special sense and meaning to the picture by adding a touch of poetic feeling ...
