Photographer’s Note

Carcassonne, Gambetta square.

As each year from 4 years ago, Carcassonne put itself at the hour of the end of year celebrations.
In several places of the city, illuminations and animations (great wheel, ice ring, luge run...) spring up all over the centre of town.
This year, the new Gambetta square could'nt escape at the celebrations. The trees wear twinkling lights, there is a little ice floe recreated in the centre of the square, and a lights game on the façades of the west side buildings.
The Christmas trees of cloth hide the public treasury (an ugly façade, besides). on the right, it's the building of the local fine arts museum and the municipal library.
A half-an-hour lights show plays on these façades, then starts again.
