Not all my pictures of Carcassone are night shots. We went back in the daylight and looked at the city from all angles. This view was more sinister maybe hinting at some of the more violent side of the fortress. The gray overcast just adds to the feeling. It's still an impressive piece of architecture.

I had heard about the Castle of Carcassone, but don't remember seeing a photo of before. It looks impregnable, and what violence it has probably seen. This is an effective angle to bring out its most salient feature, its invicibility.
