Photographer’s Note

Located in the high valley of the Tarn in Lozere, the village of Bédouès shelters this superb collegial. It was built in 1363 on request of the Pope Urbain V who was originating in the area (Grizac with a few km from there). Its fortifications did not prevent its destruction in XVIème century by protestants then with the Revolution. It is a beautiful example of architecture of the schist, typical of the Cevennes.
