L'Eglise Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers, Beaucaire was built in the eighteenth century in Baroque style when the town of Beaucaire was an international trading centre and had many visitors. It replaced an earlier Romanesque church on the same site. Of this former church, all that remains is a sculptured frieze built into the wall of the later church. The latter is particularly noteworthy for its curvilinear facade and large internal dimensions designed to accommodate the many visitors.
Beaucaire is a commune in the Gard department in Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France. Located on the Rhône River, it sits opposite the town of Tarascon (photographs of which I have already posted), which is in Bouches-du-Rhône department of Provence,.

Un très bon angle pour nous présenter ce monument, architecture particulière pour cette façade, bonne gestion de la lumière et des ombres, composition équilibrée avec les feuillages.

I'm almost back home, at Dublin Airport now killing time. I really like the angle of this shot, which brings out the best in the architecture and the dappled light is also a lovely effect. Good colours, sharpness and light balance.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

Your low viewpoint has made an impressive composition. I like the curves of this Baroque-style building. The detail and colours in the stonework are excellent and I like the contrasting colours of the doors and trees. The shadows have also made the composition interesting.
Very well taken.
Kind Regards, Ann

Good Morning Stephen,
Your capture of the dappled steps makes an interesting and effective lead towards the Baroque building. I just love how the light brings out the shape and textures of the architecture, particularly the columns.
Have a great Saturday,

wow, this church is so beautiful, nice to watch at. You presented it well with those trees. Light and colours are superb. Another very good architecture shot from your gallery. Tfs.

So strongly Baroque, even though not much remains of this place, its easy to see the glory that it once had. A perfect viewpoint and the bush in the square planter looks wonderful in the scene. As do the colors, the red doors stand out really nicely and of course, I always admire that lovely blue sky.
All the best

Les branches aident au cadrage de l'église. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture de l'église Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers. La bonne luminosité valorise les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello, You found excellent angle to show this Baroque architecture. Splendid curvy lines. The upper part looks a bit dilapidated with the plants growing on the walls. Fantastic light. Lovely lights and shadows.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Impressive big pillars holding this facade, and from the angel taken the pic. it showes well the front wall that left intact.
Good use of light under the shade of a big tree ( I figured it is a big tree, as the amount of the shade it provided), details of it's fabulous architecture's shown very well.
Have a nice Sunday afternoon,

The red doors contrast well against the blue grey steps and upper deep blue sky. Fantastic sharpness and good density and levels. We can still see good detail in the shadows and highlights with punchy light contrasts in the mid tones. Interesting to see shrubs growing from the roof and upper floor of the old Romanesque styled church. Tfs!
