Photographer’s Note

The olive-tree is characterized by a knotty trunk, its lancéolées sheets long and narrow of a beautiful green shining above and white silver plated below, renew themselves every three years. The tree can reach 15 m but one cuts it on average between 5 and 7 m to improve the productivity of it. The olive-tree is a tree with slow growth which is packed during the first 7 years of its life. It becomes particularly productive between 7 and 35 years. The olive-tree needs little water, its wood very hard and of a very tight fibre of a beautiful aspect is thus polished, yellow veined of brown. The Greeks were the first to carve statues for their gods there and today still it is used in cabinet work and sculpture.
