Photographer’s Note

- The Saint-François convent of Orezza in the very beautiful region of Castagniccia, founded in 1485 by the Franciscans, the convent was disused during revolution, he played a role mattering in 18th century as place of consults (assemblies). During the last war it was a munitions store to the Germans who destroys it in 1943. Today, the ruins, difficult of access and prohibited, let see the roofless church pervaded by the ivy but which gives nice rests of polychromie as here under the arcades of the baroque chapels, unique, they differentiate on the coat of arms, the emblem of the founder Franciscans: two arms crossed on a cross.
