Photographer’s Note
Corsica is rich in Romanesque art. The majority of the churches are in ruins, others were restored like the "Canonica" Cathedral of Mariana. Its gate illustrates the combat of the good against the evil through animals. But also more discreetly, victory of cross over the Moslems to which Pisa largely contributed. The topic was taken again. Another archivolt, undoubtedly of the same time decorated the church Santa Maria de Piedicorti di Gaggiu. One can see it re-used today in the bell-tower of the church of the village. The wolves and let us scratch them seem to be carried out by the same artist as those of Mariana. It is the photograph which I propose to you.

Bonjour Marie,
C'est dimanche et tu sais que mon habitude est de poster une église. J'ai choisi celle que nous avons tous photographiée. Evidemment, j'ai posté aussi en WS ce formidable linteau qui n'a rien à envier à ta magnifique prise de vue.
Excellent dimanche
Pierre
