Photographer’s Note

When I see cacti I immediately associate them with this famous Sergio Leone movie, so this is why this title. It may be fitting as later I encountered The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...

Taken in Nonza with the help of the ND Grad filter to lighten the foreground.

And the fun continues with the Workshops !

c'est sur ces cactus mediterraneen donne un gout western..et bibi c'est claudia cardinale ;-))
plaisant ce contraste lumineux entre le haut et le bas..surement les nuages,a+

Bonjour Jean Yves,
Excellent close-up shot for these cactuses, with the dark mountains in the back. It remind me a lot of Mexico landscapes. You short note is very good and funny as well. Indeed, the image fits just right in Sergio Leone movies. I love the atmosphere resulted from the contrast bettween the FG and the BG.

LOL! J'ai hésité entre la photo de Nonza que j'ai postée ce matin et une autre avec ces même cactus (prise depuis la terrasse du bistrot au pied de la tour). :o)
Joli contraste entre ces catus vert clair et la montagne plus sombre derrière. La petite maison remplit bien l'espace à droite.

Very interesting effect You achieved here with the ND filter. Forground's cactus looks like fill-flashed. Maybe a bit too bright?
But i'm impressed by the diversity of landscape in Corse. From the alpine cold to the Mexican warm :)

Ici mieux vaut ne pas tmber par terre sinon y'ou spiku u kulu mdrrrrrr

Bien vu J-Yves ce cadrage est bien equilibré et le filtre se fait bien sentir.
Sinon a part sa tu t'en est remis de ce trek pas trop fatigué.? et tes Chiennes tu les as faites toiletter aussi.

ta compo est ici très jolie, avec cette diagonale de figues de barbarie, et la maison au fond..

I had to look at the "Earth" line to see which 'West' you meant; this could be Arizona, California or anywhere in the SWwestern USA. I love that Grad ND filter, and you have used it well...Pat

Great use of the ND fliter to give this an extra element of interest with the light foreground and dark background. I like the allusion to the wild west, which is what I thought of when I saw this cactus. Great work!

It certainly is like something from a Western. Did you see Clint? Good POV and focus on the cacti. The grad worked well to darken the background putting the emphasis on the cacti.

Hello J.Y,
comment as tu fait pour avoir une lumiere aussi progressive, c'est etonnant, on dirait que seul les catus sont frappés par le soleil. J'aime bien cette division, c'est bien composée, ou sont les figues de barbaries ;o) deja plus ! ;o)
