Church of San Michele de Murato Photo

Photographer’s Note

Today I take you along to Murato. Here the church of San Michele de Murato built in the neighbourhoods of 1280, it belongs to the end of the period of the novel pisan in Corsica. It is characterized by an original and harmonious polychromy and a development of carved work. A twisted fillet runs under crawling of the roof to the bedside and the frontage. The sculpture, sometimes left, often naive and neater than in the other churches of the island, agrees discreetly to the building. We observe, on the western frontage, the consoles carved of animals or characters coarsely outlined; with the supports and the framings of the narrow side openings, the foliated mouldings and interlacings; with the bedside, consoles and let us modillons worked. At the XIXème century, the square tower was unfortunately raised, which breaks a little the proportions of the building. Tomorrow I will show you some details of his architecture. Very Nice. I love the salt-n-pepper appearance of the stonework. Your framing and the colors are very good. I only wish for a little more sharper focus. Great notes too.

What an old church and what a "funny" church with different stone-work in it. Nice shot with "good weather" for a picture: nice clouds I mean !
Maybe some more sharpness, but he's (she's?) nice, Martine !

I was already waiting for a new one of your guided tours to start, Martine. Good framing for this shot that gives appropriate space to the main subject, while at the same time showing enough of the surroundings to understand the location better. A very pretty architecture in which of course the distinctive alternating brick pattern draws the attention. Very nice colors and light, it looks to me like it might be a little bit sharper. Thanks for sharing ;-)

Ta note est excellente Mlle Martine digne des plus grands historiens...
Pour ta photo tu as fait un cadrage qui met en valeur le clocher en le plaçant sur un point fort de la photo.
Ce qui a de bien c'est ce ciel chargé qui donne un joli rendu et accentue un coté mystérieux.
Bravo pour ce shout Martine très bien.

Excellente idée de nous montrer l'église de Murato sous cet angle inhabituel... J'en ai moi aussi fait le tour, mais je n'ai pas pensé prendre une photo de son dos qui a également beaucoup de charme !

Bonjour Martine :)

Etonnant ces "mosaïques" de briques multicolores composant les murs de cette église. L'angle de vue me paraît parfait pour traduire l'aspect massif et carré de l'édifice. Un petit détail inclus dans la photo que j’apprécie particulièrement : La petite chapelle en contrebas à gauche paraît tellement frêle comparée à l'église. Les notes concernant l'architecture sont intéressantes. Bien réalisé.

Bonjour Martine, tres jolie eglise que je me rappelle avoir visite. Ta photo est bien composee et nette, la lumiere vient bien sur le cote gauche, c'est dommage que le cote droit soit si sombre, mais je vois que les conditions meteo n'etaient pas terribles. Amities, Jean-Yves

cadrage équilibré qui s'appuie sur le bébé chapelle derrière maman chapelle... la luminosité est intéressante car proche de la pierre qui se mêle avec le ciel. Bravo Martine

Très curieuse harmonie de couleur pour un splendide batiment en pierre! Il est parfaitement mis en évidence par la photo (cadrage, profondeur,...). Les couleurs sont superbes.

Great POV, DOF and gorgeous light, Martine! :-) The church is placed wonderfully in diagonal position, allowing us to enjoy the surroundings. The pointed up tower leads the sight to a gorgeous sky. Excellent job!

Bonsoir Martine,
après une petite relâche, je découvre ta production qui est toujours aussi plaisante à regarder et agréable à lire. La présentation de l'église de Murato vue de derrière n'est pas ordinaire je trouve, il fallait y penser. Mais comme l'a déjà dit Ned, j'apprécierais un peu plus de netteté que tu pourrais obtenir soit avec un petit réglage sur ton APN soit avec PS.

Good composition, Martine. The coloured brickwork of the church is excellent. I like the fact that the windows are so small; it makes me wonder what it is like inside. The buildings in the background, show us how special the design of this church is. Well framed.

A very simple church and a good point of view to catch it. The angle here gives us the church, then forward and to the slope down and back up in the distance. The half hidden structure to the left and the rise of the buildings on the other side give a nice depth. Perhaps a bit shallower depth of field would enhance that and let us focus more on the church. And also perhaps just a slight touch more contrast. Nicely composed and a very good angle to catch this for us.

On admire tout sur cette photo, l'église et ses pierres en damier, mais aussi ce ciel plombé accompagné d'une belle lumière.

Une église aux teintes polychromes, bien assise, aux formes rectangulaires avec une petite abside sur la partie postérieure ; le clocher/tour à toit en pavillon, surélevé au dix-neuvième siècle perturbe en effet l'harmonie générale.
Une bien jolie prise de vue.

Excellente composition. Non, c'est pas vrai: c'est une composition parfaite!!! Même les couleurs du ciel sont comlémentaires. Tu pourrais juste ajouter un peu de "sharpness". Pour le reste: bravo!

La chose qui m'a frappé en premier sur cette photo, c'est la texture et le mur de l'église, ils sont magnifiques. L'agencement des briques de couleurs bleues, vertes, grises ou blanches est splendide et la photo le rend bien. J'aime le cadrage de l'église qui n'est pas tout à fait cadrer.
