Photographer’s Note

The reason for arriving so early in Bastia (as per my previous note) was to be able to have time to visit the Cap Corse because the last time we tried, we only made it to Erbalunga (here) at 4pm. However the pov was totally different. In the afternoon, it was taken on the otherside of the village which at this time of the morning was in the shade.

La raison pour arriver si tôt à Bastia (voir précédente note) était pour pouvoir avoir le temps pour visiter le Cap Corse. La dernière fois, nous sommes arrivés à Erbalunga (ici) à 16h00 seulement. Le pdv était totalement différent car fait depuis l'autre côté du village qui était dans l'ombre le matin.

Hi Nikki,
The image has a wonderful natural feel to it....nothing ostentacious, just simple beauty, with the small village sitting qietly next to the sea. Colours and clarity are good'lighting is sharp and the composition well managed with the inclusion of the FG boulders. Well captured.

You found a great POV and you managed a good composition with an interesting foreground.Great depth with the diagonal shore leading the eyes to the village and I like the bright colors and contrast.

Nikki,
Excellent composition using the slope of the hill to create a diagonal which cuts the shot in half. The shoreline leads the eye into the shot nicely creating a nice sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The stacked rocks in the foreground provides nice balance for the buildings in the distance.

Bonjour Nikki,
Depuis mon retour d'Espagne, j'ai oublié de venir te voir. Alors je te mets dans mes favoris comme ça je n'oublierais plus!
Très bonne idée de cadrer en accordant une belle place à cette colline avec les figuiers de Barbarie qui descend dans la mer. Le contraste des couleurs avec la mer est fantastique.

La lumière est remarquable et donne un éclat tout spécial aux couleurs.

Je vois que tu rapportes de très belle image de Corse. J'apprécie beaucoup la chaleur des couleurs et ce cadrage avec ce petit village qui ne demande qu'à être visité et photographié !!

Thanks for the tip - we too will be arriving early morning in Bastia :-) The morning light really is delicious here, you have chosen a lovely POV along the shoreline and i like those stones and plant in the foreground which look almost tangible here.

Superbe composition où tu as placé cette diagonale presque parfaite.
La lumière du matin est idéale ici et tu devrais prendre le bateau plus souvent pour bénéficier de ces belles lumières ;-)

Hi Nikki,
Beautiful light and atmosphere, I can almost feel I'm standing there soaking in the warm early-morning sun. The diagonal line of the beach works well and I particularly like the placement of the small pile of stones and agave in the foreground and the way the village just sits there bathed in light next to the perfectly calm sea. I've cycled round Cap Corse a couple of times and to me this image really seems to sum up the sleepy, slightly out-of-the-way atmosphere of the area.

Celle çi me plaît beaucoup, le POV, des couleurs chaudes que donne la lumiére du matin, et oui là bas il est plus agréable de ce levée tôt que dans le nord:-)

El punto de vista es extraordinario. Me gusta la profundidad de campo y la sensación de tranquilidad que se respira en este escenario.

La composición es estupenda, que acompañada con las finas y bellas tonalidades, determinan una hermosa foto. Felicitaciones.

The morning light really is lovely with golden tones everywhere. From this POV you have managed to almost split the scene diagonally from corner to corner making for a wonderful composition easy on the eye.
