CERVIONI

In fifty kilometres in the South of Bastia, Cervioni ( Cervione) is a town hung on in amphitheatre on the last hillsides of Monte Castellu who peaks in 1109 metres. The village owes its name to an ancient presence of big deers (Latin: cervus corsicanus).
This one is situated between 350 and 400 metres in height, but the municipality extends up to the beach of Prunete, five kilometres below.
Cervioni thus gathers the pleasures of the beach and the mountain, but it is also a place loaded with history because it was the seat of the bishops of Aleria and, under Théodore Ier's administration, the capital of Corsica.
Question culture, you can also visit its convent Franciscan of the XVIth century and its ethnographical museum created by the association ADECEC based in the village.
The eglise which you see is called Church Saint Erasme.

If you wish to discover, or to rediscover the Corsican music, I can only recommend you the magnificent On-line Radio of the ADECEC, to listen to especially in the morning, because in the afternoon, it is rather average as programs
