Photographer's Note

A corporal keeps the entry of the vault located in the cemetery of the village of Castirla. The chorus of the small church of San-Michele of Castirla, close to Corte, is decorated with frescos inspired of primitive Italian of Quattrocento: The opened wide and thoughtful eyes of the apostle testify to the Byzantine origins of this Article Christ in majesty is placed in the center of the apse dominating the twelve apostles. On the book which it holds, one can read in Latin:
"I am the light of the world and the way of the truth and the life".
