Photographer’s Note

Another photo of Lake calacuccia this time with the dam. It is a day of stormy wind and snow fell on the eve center of the island. On one hand, the blue sky, on the other hand, the sky snow. (3 photos)

For the record, I take note already appeared on one of my earlier pictures of the lake. The artificial lake of Calacuccia is located in the valley of Niolu, in the centre of the island. The restraint on the river Golu gave birth to the largest reservoir in Corsica. Its construction began in 1965 to enter into service in 1968. It is up to 72m and 265m long. The volume of the dam is 79500 m3. The basin has an area of 127 km2.

Needless to say, its construction has wiped out homes and land under water. Beneath the calm waters of the dam there is a world frozen, a Corsican Atlantis. Little word of humour, some saw, not the monster of Loch Ness, but a big something weird, there is talk of a big catfish. I have not seen! Damage.
