Photographer’s Note

Pan of 3 photos of the city of Bonifacio in southern Corsica. The heat of this Sunday in May and includes the city covered in a white veil its hinterland.

For some, Bonifacio is wearing Lestrygons described by Homer in the Odyssey.

The city was founded in 828 by Boniface, Marquis of Tuscany. She was free commune until 1187, when the Genoese to emparèrent. The bonifaciens were driven to Genoa to populate the city of Ligurian families.
The city has withstood several sieges, including that of the King of Aragon in 1420. She bent in front of the french alliance with Turkey in 1554 but for a short time.
The fever has struck in 1528.

Charles V and Bonaparte stayed there.

The visit of the city goes through the port then you rise to the old city to the shelter in its walls and perched on the cliff. There is so much to see that the note would quickly become a real inventory.
