In the béginning of XX century, french fishers ships went in Saint Pierre et Miquelon to déposit cod to dry on stones bank called "gravières" in the fishers island near St Pierre harbour.
The island is now a museum and the old houses restaured like Jezekel's house.
You can see a little canot called "doris" who was used by 3 fishers to catch cob. Sometimes the doris was lost in the fog... and fishers cannot get back to the ship
