Photographer’s Note

The riviere bleue area is a large nature reserve on the southern part of New Caledonia's main island Grande Terre. It is only accessible by bike or by foot. On this picture you can see the Yate lake which is central to that region.

This unique landscape is the home for many rare endemic animal and plant species of New Caledonia such as the cagou bird and different species of auracae.
