WW I memorial of the isle of Pines, New Caledonia. Unusual feature for French memorial is its religious sign.
Isle of pines was a penal colony during the period 1860-1895, as well as deportation land for Paris Commune people, including famous "Red virgin", Louise Michel (1830-1905).
NOTE TO TE: Please! "France" is too restrictive... There is nothing common, geographically speaking, with France (and some other countries, I guess) and its overseas territories. :-)

I love this, its such a strong composition with the statue in the center of the frame, surrounded by these monuments and the vivid electric blue water behind to present the whole scene against perfectly. Your composition in thirds like this is brilliantly done.
Really nice capture, thanks for sharing.
