Photographer's Note

Fort-de-France is located on Martinique's west coast at the mouth of the Madame river. The airplane was going to land at Lamentin airport. The city occupies a narrow plain between the hills. Martinica owes its name to Christopher Columbus, who sighted the island in 1493 and finally came on 15 June 1502. It was then called "Jouanacaëra-Matinino", which came from a mythical island described by the Tainos. Source : wiki
