Photographer’s Note

The original photo is color, but not much color comes through at this 100-foot depth. So I changed it to B&W. With underwater photography at depth, you can't extract color unless you have a strobe...preferably two. Once you're beyond the working range, color falls off and turns dark blue. This wreck is off the coast of Tahiti.

Black and white works well with this shot...very eerie...there is something about wrecks that spells death and disaster, and you've captured that in this shot. Great timing, with the diver about to enter the hatch, or at least thats what it looks like. Cheers
