Photographer’s Note

Pappete Ferry terminal gets really busy on the ferry arrival and departures to Moorea. Here you can feel a little of the caotic atmosphere. It was the only oportunity I got to get a picture of the colorful ladies clothes. I was impressed by the fact that most of women still wear the traditional floral clothes (dresses and pareos) and the Tiare flower (symbol of Tahiti) in their hair. Its a bautiful tradition, that adds a lot of charm to the Islands' women. They use the flowers to make perfume, oils and essence for the hair and body. It smells really great and you can feel it around the Island.
