Raining in paradise Photo

Photographer’s Note

On our way to Easter Island, we (my family and I) spent a full day in Tahiti last November. Having less than 24 hours to kill, the tour of the island was a must do. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and we got lots of rain! It is a beautiful island with black sand beaches. Yes, black sand, since Tahiti is a volcanic island. Its capital city, Papeete, is home for some world class resorts but do not expect white sandy beaches!

A must see place in Tahiti is the Gaugin Museum, even if there is not a single Gaugin’s original painting. But his life in the Society Island is very well explained and documented.

For the location, Tahiti is part of Oceania and about 16 deg S of the Equator. In other words, it is at 5 hours flight from Auckland (NZ) and another 5 hours flight to Easter Island. So, lots of flying time to get in and out.

We had a really great time during our short stay.

Eu gosto do enquadramento nesta foto, da forma onde conseguiste emoldurar a cabana ao fundo com os ramos das árvores no primeiro plano. Isso dá um óptimo balanço à foto e é isso que se deve procurar na fotografia de paisagem. Um bom primeiro plano é tão importante como o segundo. A qualidade do jpg em si não está muito bom, não sei se da taxa de compressão que tiveste de utilizar ou se é mesmo a qualidade da lente/luz. Boa foto!

Beautiful place I love this paradise, the color on the water is so beauty, I like the branches too I would like to see a blue sky but I know you can not manage the weather, however the mountais behind the clouds looks beauty and a mistery.
