Photographer’s Note

Construction of Notre-Dame cathedral started circa 1155-1160 and was completed circa 1230. The very understated purity of its inner architecture, reinforced by white stone, gives it a remarkable luminosity.

Wonderful details, very nice, sharp shot of a remarkably beautiful Gothic cathedral, Huub. There is one question emerging in me, are the colours of the stainglass windows so purplish? Do they not tend more toward red and blue? I am merely curious, would appreciate your reply :-)

Very good photo! Even if im not big fan of symmetry and repetition in photography, this one is great. It is a beautiful piece of architecture. I like your photo very much. It is sharp, detailed and you have nicely captured the upper part of the cathedral (for me the most interesting part).

Great perspective and depth of view, Huub! Also very sharp with deep DOF! As one who took several pictures in Churches, usually you dont have such light, just as you commented in your note!
