Along The Ourcq Canal V Photo

Photographer’s Note

We are at Mareuil-sur-Ourcq small picturesque village at the edge of the canal.
I am located vis-a-vis the church Sainte Euphémie: XII° and XIII° century.
The Canal of Ourcq was started in the XVII° century has a 110 km length, it crosses two areas: the France Island (Paris region) and Picardy.
The canal was completed starting from Paris, of the downstream upstream. It ensures a food of water Paris, while allowing a navigation of freight. This one was established starting 1813 between Claye-Souilly and Paris.
Realized in two thirds during the final fall of the First Empire, this channel was completed only in 1821. Since 1983, the individual pleasure sailing and the boats of transport of passengers replaced transport by barge.

This shot is very good technically and very nice and pleasant for the eye, Said. Very soft light and colors and a very good POV. I like it, simple and beautiful.

Très belle église dans ce village et elle est parfaitement cadrée avec d'excellentes couleurs. (Ah, quand le beau temps est là)
La note relative au canal de l'Ourcq est également intéressante. Bravo!

Hi Didi, You have used the trees on the side to frame this picture very well. The green foreground and the blue-sky background make a well contrast to the church. A photo with nice composition, good DOF and nice contrast.

I like the compositiona nd point of view.Good colors and contrasts.I like the light,textures and sharpness.I like the contrast between the sky and the building.I like the architecture of the building.Good job!

Il y a des églises qui ont des allures de Cathédrales.
A moins que ce ne soit la photo qui donne cette impression.
C'est parfait avec cette image bien construite.

Amazing how the church is situated above everything else - well shown in your shot. Nice loght and colours. I sense a slight tilt to the right though.

Bonsoir Didi,
L'angle de prise de vue ainsi que ce cadrage vertical sont parfaits pour mettre en valeur l'architecture. Juste une simple remarque, on aimerait voir un peu plus le vert de l'herbe et un peu moins de ciel, mais difficile à évaluer sans être sur place.

C'est très intéressant cette balade le long du Canal de l'Ourcq, je dois dire que je ne connaissais que sa partie parisienne et ne me suis jamais demandé si il continuait en dehors... C'est très agréable et bucolique!
Jean-Michel voit une cathédrale, moi je vois presque une forteresse... Intéressante photo bien construite, et je continue avec toi la balade avec plaisir!

Cher Saïd,
A la lecture des critiques élogieuses, je remarque que notre amie Sophie compare cette église à une forteresse, elle n'a pas tout à fait tort, car certaines églises assuraient la protection des villageois (au même titre que certains châteaux forts). Il suffit de regarder la construction de l'église qui rappelle certaines tours de défense (présence de meurtrières, etc.).
C'est une photo que j'aurais bien voulu prendre ! ;-))
