Photographer’s Note
IN THE TIME OF THE ONE HUNDRED YEARS WAR
Gerberoy, a black century
The XIVth and XVth centuries were the black periods of the finishing Middle Age. The history of Gerberoy, in Picardy, which was the theater of the military exploits of Joan of Arc before being decimated by the plague, is the illustration.

Another very nice street shot Philippe. Fine lead of the road, good details in the houses. Maybe a litle to much of the shadow in here, still well made overall impression.

A very pleasant scene with excellent contrasty light and colors Philippe! I love the lighting keeping the one side dark...and the other in light!

Bonjour Philippe
Very good note. Who was the 100 years war between? France & England? Nobody wins wars imho. Everybody loses. I like the slight curve of the street. Thanks for sharing.

well Phillippe,
I know the problem from a to strong shadow, you show it us today. The photo is very nice, but I think in this case I had cropped a part of the shadow, farther you took it very well, good job

Hi Philippe, I have removed the first shade once, and the photograph was much improves, but this personal, I find you picture excellent and realistic, fortunately for us is the Middle Age over, the imminent sky above the street, very nice perspective Philippe! Well seen!

Very impressive play of light and shadow again, in this deep view into the old street. A lot of details present in the bright area on the right, with the brick wall and the ivy-covered façades. The half in the shadow balances the composition well. Good photo, Philippe.

The weather is making this shot, the light against the shadows "playing" together in your street, therefore a great shot !

Maintenant, j'attends l'arc-en-ciel ;)
Bien vu, Philippe!

The lighting in the shot is just excellent, Philippe. I especially like how the band of light in the street is sandwiched between the gloomy sky and the lower shadow. All the shutters on the windows are also good. Well sen and captured.

Bien vu

The only critique here can be the left side of the image. I think a small croping here of shadow could be fine.
