Photographer's Note

Le Bois de Cise, Ault, Somme district.

From the Bois de Cise, access to sea is possible via a staircase. At the end, a small pebble beach and stunning views of the chalk cliffs.

Geological formations here are highly subject to erosion due to wave action. Far away in the next depression, you can aperceive the municipality of Ault. This town constantly fights against erosion, and some of its houses and its traffic lanes are being abandoned for safety reasons.

Caution in this place, especially after heavy rain, because of very high risk of landslides.
