Photographer’s Note

Taken from the car, somewhere in the countryside near the Cap Griz-Nez area, but I don't remember exactly where, it's been a little while. Rain was coming, and light swiftly changing on this simple landscape.

Prise de la voiture (en tant que passagère), quelque part dans l'arrière-pays du Cap Griz-Nez, je ne me souviens plus exactement où. Un orage arrivait, et la lumière changeait très rapidement sur ce paysage tranquille.

Salut Michèle, tu es une fan des flous (réfère photo Forest blue-s) et moi, c'est le contraire...
Mais ici, je suis gagné. ça me rappèle les voyage en auto à la campagne avec mon père. Le fait que ce soit flou et un peu sombre met de l'emphase sur l'aspect souvenir!
Une photo qui tourne un peu plus vers l'art que vers la photo conventionelle.

Really like this one, Michele .. I guess you could tell by now :-) Unsettling, paranoid, due to the tilt but mostly to the blurry elements. The gloomy tones, of course, add to the overall atmosphere. Also, that small tree in the lower middle of the picture .. looks to me like a person with a rain coat walking away toward the forest ... but again, I must be seeing things ;-)

Je ne suis pas tellement "photos floues" ces derniers temps. Peut-être est-ce dû au fait que j'en ai tellement vues. N'empêche, celle-ci me plaît bien.
Tu sais la première idée qui m'est venue en regardant ta photo? "Ça c'est la dernière image que voit quelqu'un sur le point d'avoir un accident!" Le "tilt", la vue qui se brouille, la route toujours visible, mais dont on perd soudainement les limites, et les arbres qui s'approchent beaucoup trop vite de nous... :) Et c'est pour ça que je l'aime bien, cette photo. Parce que j'y lis une histoire, un drame, une tension.
[Mais, comme il est tard et que j'ai plus envie d'une histoire qui finit bien, disons que c'était un accident évité de justesse... ;)]

Hi Michele--It looks like it was taken with a Holga (original cost probably 1/1000 that of your 40D and lens), and I like that look! In a "straight" shot, this would be a pretty ordinary landscape, but it takes on an air of mystery and unease in the style you gave it. I think it might be good to make the light areas a bit brighter, but I'm not sure. Regards, Ken.

Michele, the first thing I thought was "whoa! you were close!" And like Phil said, it does look like there is a mini-tornado right alongside you. The atmosphere is surreal, unsteadying, scary and spooky. Yet it is intriguing, and interesting, and I like it! All the best, Casper

Michèle, tes 2 dernières sont très belles ! Celle-ci me parle spécialement, elle fait aussi un peu "vieille photo" et j'aime cette allusion au voyage et au gros temps, ce qui ajoute à l'aventure...
Je pars très bientôt pour la Turquie mais pour un court moment, j'espère que tu vas toujours bien !

Une photo très originale.
Quelque chose de subtil ici en raison du flou, et en raison de la ressemblance avec de la peinture.
Absolument exquis, ce paysage.
Ton traitement est très créatif.

j'aime cette approche quasi lomographique (au sens noble du terme) de cette composition. Le contraste élevé n'altère pas la gamme chromatique, le flou dynamise l'ensemble. Superbe vraiment
