Photographer’s Note

The Museum is implanted since autumn, 2001 on the site of the ancient municipal swimming pool which is an exceptional buildingship art-decoration. This swimming pool was built between 1927 and 1932 by the architect Albert Baert on the initiative of the mayor, Jean Lebas.
Today registered on the heritage of the XXth century, this swimming pool offered to the population of Roubaix a high-quality sports and hygienic service. Closed since 1985, for safety reasons. The Swimming pool, restored by the architect Jean-Paul Philippon, shelters now, the Museum of Art and industry of Roubaix.
The reflection of the big stained glass in the water is particularly beautiful.

Olá Diane,
Bela composição, cores e reflexos bem definidos. Acho que vc colocou cores em excesso na moldura da foto, e isto, acaba distraindo o observador. Mas, o trabalho está bem feito.

C'est vrai que ce musée est superbe et le fait d'avoir garder ce passage d'eau au milieu de cette salle donne la possibilité de construire des photos intéressantes. Une bonne réalisation même si ça penche un petit peu à droite.

Bonjour Diane

Je ne connaissais pas du tout ce musée, merci pour le partage.
Le vitrail est impressionnant, et sa réflection sur l'eau est encore plus magnifique avec des couleurs parfaites. Belle réalisation, bravo.
Par contre, même si le cadre est assorti, personnellement je le trouve un peu "too much", mais question de goût...

Très jolie photo très graphique avec un beau mélange de couleurs.
Dommage que cela penches vers la droite.
Par contre je ne suis pas fan du cadre: un peu trop chargé, trop kitch à mon gout.

tu as fait le plein avec la Piscine. Faut l'art déco est déjà splendide en elle-meme. En ce qui concerne la technique, un peu comme Yffic cadrage serré mais chargé mais limite kitch mais avec le sujet il était difficile de faire autrement. Certes un peu incliné mais surtout un peu flou sur les cotés. Perso, j'aurai travaillé sur un stich pour que tout soit net de tout cotés.

Bonjour Diane,
Ca donne envie de piquer une tete... LOL je crois qu'ils me fracasseraient les statues sur la tete ;-) en plus ca briserait net la jolie symetrye qui donne une bonne partie de son interet a cette image, donc je vais m'abstenir et me contenter d'admirer, cadrage nckel et tres beau graphisme aux couleurs soutenues, c'est bien fait.

The graphical impact of this half circle clear reflected in the water with it's marvellous coloring make this one incongruous Diane, the colored border a bit as reflection on the edge still showing your good taste, maybe it could distract some ?

Beautifully composed. I like how you've kept the stained glass window & it's reflection in the frame. In fact the reflection comes out clearer & better exposed than the actual window. Very nice & eye catching photograph!

The reflection and the colors are awesome, so is your perfect colorful framing. The picture seems to be a bit tilted to right, but it doesnt distract much. A very good job. TFS

Une trés belle composition. J'aime beucoup cette photo.
J'ai visité ce musée il y a quelques années mais en hiver par un temps trés gris et ce vitrail n'avait pas cet éclat.
C'est dommage que le vitrail soit un peu surexposé; ce qui empêche de voir les détails apparaissant sur son image. Mais c'est trés difficile, moins d'exposition aurait bouché les parties sombres.
Par contre je fais partie de ceux qui n'aiment pas le cadre. Les goûts et les couleurs .......

Questa è la mia preferita tra le tue.
I colori sono stupendi, la composizione è ottima, e il riflesso sull'acqua rende il tutto ancora più bello! Meravigliosa la cornice che hai scelto per questa foto, a riprendere i colori all'interno di essa.

Hi Diane,

An interesting work, the vertical format is correct, impressive reflection in the water, the composition is good and well balanced, the use of a tripod could have helped to work with slower speeds and to increase the diaphragm and that way to improve the quality of focus.

Bonjour Diane,
Merci pour le mot que tu m'as laissé, très agréable à lire et effectivement tu as raison il s'agit bien du jardin de majorelle. Je viens de parcourir ta gallerie que je ne connaissais pas et je constate une chouette évolution entre tes premiers posts et les derniers, tes dernières compo sont soignées et pures, tu aimes les grands espaces, les paysages, c'est agréable a regarder. Pourtant je m'arrete sur celle ci, une de tes premières que je trouve vraiment aboutie et réussie, cet éventail et sa réflexion est terrible ici, les couleurs impliquées sont top et je vois que tu t'es éclatée sur le cadre ;) Avec un zoom un peu plus large ça aurait pas mal rendu aussi je pense.
