Photographer’s Note
I have been a bit fast yesterday to speak about the inside views, since I still have a few outside ones in the chronomogy. I have chosen this one for tonight's posting since there is some color : we are here inside one of the Sedov's lifeboats (old fashioned ones at the time, now that they have been replaced by liferafts like as everywhere). In the middle of the lifeboat, the square structure is the engine, which could be launched using the metal handle (we tried it and yes, it worked !). Some paddles on the side (probably as efficient as the engine). And, one very important thing, DO NOT FORGET TO SCREW THE EXHAUST PLUG BEFORE LAUCHING THE BOAT ! Otherwise, you will finish a second time in the water after the lifeboat has sunk...
Two other views in workshop :
- one of some German trainees at the helm mixed withe the Russian cadets (you will see the "homemade"jacket decoration made of ship's paint on one of them,
- the other to show how we were spending our time between the watches.

Hi Emmanuel,
A very strong composition. Of course it is interesting to see all the attributes of a life-boat, but me the division of planes into congruent polygons is the most intriguing.

Hej Emmanuel,
Excellent capture. It's very good that as good as all the lines in the composition are pointing at the front of the ship. The lifeboat's colour is, of course, very attractive and even more because of the grey colours of the surroundings. Good work!

Ca fait beaucoup d'éléments dans l'image, mais cela passe bien parce que l'embarcation ressort avec sa couleur et son poliester brillant.
Les photos additionnelles sont très interessantes, mais effectivement c'est le mode de lancement du moteur comme sur les vieilles deudeuches qui me fait le plus sourire ainsi que le mode d'emploi de la note;

Bonjour Emmanuel
The red is eye catching & when the outside mood is foggy & misty, this looks even better. I like your POV as we look down the life boat & hit the billowing sail. Well done!
Regards
Angshu
