Photographer’s Note

The closest view in this mini-serie of Astrid, in the middle of the English Channel in 1990 during the Cutty Sark Tall ships' Race. This is also the closest view I have whith the ship under sails. Unfortunatly, I have this big freighter in the background who happened to be there at the wrong moment. On the other side, this shows you that this picture was taken at sea and not near the shore. Technical data in the number one of the serie.

Wonderful shot with a great atmosphere. The light falling from the left is gorgeous and shines very beautifully in the ship. And with the beauty of the ship in the foreground, the freighter in the background can't bother me. :-) Well done!

A very good techincal photo! Good sharpness and nice use of the light that was present! The compo is very pleasent and the details are many and interesting. And you caught the name of the boat so well as well. the ship in the back ruins some but good work!

Belle vue rapprochée d Astrid, avec toujours de bonnes couleurs et netteté irreprochable, une jolie lumiere et le porte containers indique a quel point la manche est embouteillée
Tu dis 1900 dans ta note, mais j ose esperer ue tu n etais pas né a l epoque!

I love this view at an angle with the light coming from the left. Wonderful contrast & visual appeal of the sails against the sky, with the clear wavy waters. Very nice
