Photographer’s Note

At the end of the park of the Castle of Versailles opposed to the palate of Louis XIV, a curiosity is which surprises the visitors with the eyes still full with the royal records: the Hamlet of the Queen.
One is also far from the magnificence of the Castle which one can the being. Maisonnettes with the thatched roofs is had a presentiment of around a pond. Small stone bridge. Ducks which splash in the middle of the water lilies. Pot small gardens, vine, glycine.
Marie-Antoinette, the wife of Louis XVI, made create of all parts this corner of countryside, with her mill, her dairy, her pigeon, her farm.
She liked to play shepherdess in her hamlet. She took even her meals there, thanks to the Plate warmer, a small house where one could heat the dishes, and where were arranged silverware, the crockery and the table linen. It is seen that simplicity was only apparent…
Today the farm became teaching, it is very appraisal of the town schoolboys who can see there in truth of the asses, goats, geese, sows, ponies and other ewes and lambs, and to initiate itself with the agricultural work.
