Isolated church
Historical general information
Saint-Forget finds his origin of saint Ferreol, martyr of Vienna into 304. City at the 13th century under the name of "Sancto Ferreolo". Possession at 12th of the abbey of Saint-Denis and the 13th century of the abbeys of Saint-Germain and Port-Royal. Stronghold with 16th of Cyrano, family of Italian origin whose ground took this name in Bergerac. The hero of Edmond Rostand, born in Paris in 1619, adopted the name of this ground and y passed its youth to the castle of Mauvières. Church Gille Saint 13th century, building registered with the inventory of the historic buildings. I like much this church for his simplicity.

Joli petit coin avec ce qu'il faut d'ombres et de lumière.
De la couleur des textures et j'aime bien aussi prendre connaissance de cette histoire de Cyrano, déclameur de la célèbre tyrade que j'ai appris et joué à l'école.; Il y a si longtemps.

Excellent shot, Philippe. I like the 'classic' architecture of the church and the way the shadow of the trees 'decorate' it. The warm sunlight on the church is really beautiful. Well framed with the perfect blue sky. Well done.

Hello Philippe. Not only did you succeed photographing this fine old church from a good angle, but also the play of shadows you got on the façade of the edifice adds special interest to this view. A perfectly balanced exposure allows to study the details ideally, and the natural colors are nice, too.

Mince ! Je l'ai râtée de peu celle là, j'étais à proximité à Dampierre avant-hier.
Toutefois tu as très bien fait de la publier; elle est parfaitement cadrée et la variation de luminosité est bien maîtrisée.

Belle petite église Philippe, bien moins riche que la cathédrale Saint Réparate que je viens de poster! Plus sobre et je préfère ce style d'architecture.

You shows us the simplicity of this isolated church very well.
This is a very cunning picture. Of course by the excellent POV, but even more by the late shadow of the tree on the façade. All underlined by the steel blue sky.

Superbe petite église....Mais ou allez vous les chercher ? :o) Formidablement bien cadrée avec ce ciel bleu qui met bien en valeur ce petit clocher. L'image est bien nette, il doit faire bon s'y reposer les jours de canicule a l'ombre de ces grands arbres ...

Malgré sa simplicité, le jeu des ombres apporte un plus qui ajoute du relief à cette photo.
Le cadrage serré suffit à mettre en valeur ce petit clocher dans cet environnement pastoral.

C'est vrai qu'extérieurement cette église parait assez sobre. Elle semble en revanche dans un très bon état de conservation et parfaitement entretenue. Le cadrage est bien choisi, et la lumière agréable. Merci pour le partage.

What a nice and quaint church. The setting and church itself give it an almost cabin like feel. It seems like it could make a nice house in this setting. The lighting helps to that end giving it all a soft and quiet appearance. It's also crisp and clean and I like the textures of the walls. They are like something I can actually feel. NIcely captured, Philippe, with some nice context of its setting and a tranquil light.

Philippe, in your photographs, you have captured the splendid French medieval architecture very well. Can't wait to visit one day.
This church is a fine example: very simple, but very attractive as well. You have captured it well in a beautiful light. The soft shadows give it a tranquil mood.
