Photographer’s Note

This is my 300th shot presented on TE.

This is my last shot shown here, at least for some time.

Anniversary, the worst or the best occasion to sum up..

Almost 3 years of my intense activity here, development of photographical skills, the biggest success of all: group of faithful friends who I met here, on whom, I perfectly know, I can rely in many situation.

What is wrong?
Apparently we have new Polish moderator and in the Polish section on TE for some time now, started to happen outrageous things. Some of us lost the right to write critics, to point them, our shots were cancelled, but what is the most important – in spite of the rules we don’t have any chance to discuss the reasons, to protest, no any dialog, no any response in the most absurd moderator’s decisions.
I’ve written here already that I started to feel like being in totalitarian system again, with no identity, no any chance to get a justice.

Example: moderator cancelled one of my shot from visit in New York, because.. there was a dog. It wasn’t mine, in my humble opinion, dog has a right to be a part of the world, as it is so, it’s obvious that I can show one in my gallery. No, it occurred I am wrong. I don’t have a right, furthermore, I don’t have a right to expect any answer of my numerous trial to get a right to clear the matter. In the same day, in gallery I found 5 other shots with dogs, four with cats which were undoubtedly “friendly” to photographer so the execution of the most nonsense ideas touches only some of us..

Almost in the same time going through Polish gallery I found pictures which were presented with of-fensive notes, abusing people shown in the pictures - old or female, blacken their reputation or violating the sense of respect to the others. One of Polish TE members showing two windows suggest that in one of them neighbors shouts during “anal sex with stranger without protection”.. another our colleague shows a man in the street with sexual implied meaning in commentary humiliating the unknown person. In accordance there are comments which those sexist aspect of “the joke” maintain in the ugliest style..

In this case we don’t have moderator. He sleeps. He wakes up seeing dogs or cat of some of the authors, or chooses and dictates who has a right to write a comments. The reasons unknown.

We have the right to be a partner here, to be protected from abusment, to independendtly create our gallery which is to show a true world. This is my statement. Cancelation of my activity on TE for, at least, some time is my way to make a protest against unresponsible invidual in power.

Zdjecie jest genialne...
Ekstaza, glebia, mistycyzm, malowniczosc, piekno...
Ale zmien notatkie, bardzo prosze, szybko, zanim wszyscy przeczytaja...
Przeczytaj maila ode mnie...
Nie badz taka wrazliwa na slowa...
Liczy sie Twoja wrazliwosc na obrazy, ktore czynisz.
Prosze, albo mocno scisne za szyje...

Hi Agnieszka,
what a pity, I didn´t know that you had problems like this. I will miss you and your special and masterful approach to show the world. You´re one of the few to produce serious art here.
You shold not give up because some administrator who doesn´t know anything about photography wants to show his "power". Not worth it.

Hi Agnieszka,

it is hard to comment this fantastic photo without slight aftertaste after reading your note. It is sad to see one's will diminished because of incomprehensible actions from the third part.
Unfortunately I cannot do much about it rather than compliment your extraordinary photographic contribution marked with this superb photo.
Yes...the world is distorted and we have to somehow manage to work in it...

Zdjecie nieprawdopodobnie geste. Porysowane. Chropawe niemal dotykalnie. Dark secret fotografii okaleczonej dla Piekna.

Hi Agnieszka,

I have noticed your photos for some time, but failed to comment, as I noticed mostly in Polish, and there is no Polish translation. I also said nothing because I don't know what to SAY to an obvious talent I can't fathom.

I wish you won't leave, but I can see this is frustrating for an artist. Maybe I never commented your photos, but I surely noticed and was moved by them.

Witaj,
Zdjęcie niebanalne, dopracowane, efektowne z dużą dawką emocji. Emocje także w notatce, z którą się po części zgadzam. Po części jednak, bo choć szanuję Twoją decyzję, to się z nią nie zgadzam. Jesteś tu potrzebna za swoimi pracami i krytykami, jak nie wiem co. Przemyśl to jeszcze.

I wasn't aware of the issue, but reading your note...it's a pitty...and a shame. I know exactly how you feel as we had a similar issue some 2 years ago on TL (not the dog-cat one, but about such a relative interpretation of TOS), we lost many friends, and I myself stopped being active to this present day...
From today's perspective though, I'm not sure it was really worth it. You are too good a photographer to lose TE and that TE loses you. Make a break, but not for too long...

Great self portrait, gritty enough to make a statement.

A reflection on a dirty, a scrateched surface with darkness and distortion… All the vision, all the structure crack; and the photographer, YOU, stand there doing what you are doing best. Touring in your gallery was one of the greatest joys of TE.
