Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken on my way back to Canada from my trip to Tunisia in 2001. I stayed only 3 days in Paris and had the chance to visit an old friend of mine during this time, i only had the chance to take a few pictures ( but i will go back someday with a digital camera to take more!) in Paris. I didn't had a digital camera back at that time so picture is not perfect. i applied a sepia color in Photoshop for this picture because the metros over there are over 100 years old..(although i can't remeber excactly wich metro gate is on this picture) lots of tunnels and different metro lines wich make all complicated in this weird metro. Compared to the one we have here in Montreal, tunnels are longer to walk and also have better gates (not easy to cross them if you don't pay the fee) compared to those we have here in montreal. I found this exit of metro very nice, also for the stairs that goes deep underneath and comes up directly to the street above (not like the '' bunkers'' we have here in montreal for metro stations!) it's gives a nice look from the outside. it's easy to get lost in the metros in Paris if you have never been there before ( anyway for me it was..) i wish i can go back in Paris someday, very beautiful city, looks like our old quebec city here... picturer was taken (originally in color) with a old nikon non-digital...

Very fun and exciting use of B/W and sepia! The photo has an old photograph feel to it that really suits the subject well.

The sepia tone give a very nice "old postcard" look to this nice picture... Just the cars are ruining the feeling. :o)

Digne d'une carte postale rétro. Le ton sépia est la clé de cette photo, il me semble.
Très joli effet de flou qui renforce l'impression "d'ancien".
Well done, Jeff

Très belle photo qu'il faudrait peut etre recadrer un peu vers la gauche ...

It looks very good in sepia, like it is really 100 years old photo.
Nice compo.
