Photographer’s Note

3.06p.m. - This shot was taken at Luxembourg Garden with a more casual and relax atmosphere. We have decided to take a break and thought that this would be a perfect place. While sitting and enjoying some snacks and the beautiful autumn mood, I noticed this man leading a few ponies into the park. I just could not resist taking a shot. With him and the ponies the scene seemed to change to that of a countryside, and what a contrast with the city in the background!!
I found out later that these ponies are for visitors to the garden, especially children to enjoy a ride, as I saw a little girl being strapped to the horse with this man guiding the horse round the park. I guess they will have to pay for it.

i can almost smell the sweetness of autumn coming through your photo.
this photo is great with all the colors and it just pulls us away from the perception i have of paris

Lovely scene, Aloysius, and a well-composed shot. The color gradations give a good balance to the man & horse.. and the leaf-strewn path leads along nicely to the background. Yes, a very autumn mood, well done.

Hi Aloysius. What a nice moment you have captured. The falls colors and fallen leaves really add a lot to the shot. The pathway helps the depth and helps take our eye through the shot. Very nicely done Aloysius!

Bonjour,
Bravo pour cette photo tres réussie de l'arrivée des petits chevaux au jardin du luxembourg. IlS arrivent pour faire leur journée de travail et des generations de ces animaux sympathiques ont porté sur leur dos des generations d'enfants parisiens et autres, dont j'ai été, il y a bien longtemps. Votre photo montre bien ce qui se passe avant que le spectacle ne commence . la lumiere du matin y est bien restituée . Savez vous que ces petits chevaux viennent du 15eme arrondissement et parcourent environ 3 kms à pied pour venir par la rue de Vaugirard et autant pour repartir le soir. Si vous faisiez maintenant la photo du depart le soir pour regagner l'écurie!

A well composed large format shot. I like this rambling and colourful scene which denotes autumn so well. The man and the ponies really balance and enhance, keeping the foreground flat area in perspective. Good symmetry with the trees lining either side. A well conceived shot where you seized the decisive moment to capture the ponies and thus enhance. Good work.

Hi Aloysius, Good capture of the fall colors. Nice to have plenty of leaves on the trees and on the ground to show the beautiful color everywhere. The man with the horses is a good plus to the autumn mood. A well taken picture.

A smell of Autumn atmosphere with the read leaves fallen in the path. Splendid perspective and enquadrement with our eyes viweing the man with the ponies at the left and near at distance the gate of the garden. You handled very well the light conditions. Very well seen and composed.

The fallen leaves makes quite an interesting view from your image. And the more leaves awaiting to fall of the branches are well blended. Yeah, autumn leaves gives pretty impressive colors, such as this shot of yours.

anyway...great shot, with a fantastic collage of autumnal colors, millions of dead leaves and a beautiful view an dperspective on the natural "gallery" composed by the trees.
