Photographer’s Note
Yet another picture from the set made through my nocturnal stroll in the garden of "Les Tuileries" and the "Louvre" palace. It is the "Arc du Carrousel" situated on the "Place du Carroussel" between "La Cour Napoleon" with the Louvre's Pyramid and the garden of "Les Tuileries". It is part of the "Voie Triomphale" (the Triumph Way).
La Voie Triomphale is the monumental axis of Paris. It is 9 kilometers long, some says it start from the Pyramid, I say it start from fountain in the middle of the "Place Carrée" of the old "Louvre". It cross the "Cour Napoléon" and the Pyramid and goes under the "Arc du Carrousel". It follows the central alley of the "Jardin des Tuileries" then cross "Place de la Concorde" and its "Obélisque". The axis climb the "l?avenue des Champs-Élysées" and when it gets to the "Place de l'Etoile" (or "Place Charles de Gaulle"), goes between the legs of the "Arc de Triomphe", paying its tribute to the unknown Soldier fallen in vain for an absurd and stupid war. From "l'Etoile", the imaginary line goes down the "Avenue de la Grande Armée" till the limit of the city and, without a look for the architectural absurdity of the congress centre, the line cross the invisible gate only betrayed by its name "Porte Maillot". The flight continue to the west the suburban town of "Neuilly" and through the sky scrappers of the financial district "Défense". Some says the axis ends under the gigantic "Arche de la Défense", I say it only goes through the Arch and goes on and on trough the French provinces, oceans and far-away lands.
I took this night picture still with my old Fujifilm MX-2700 (I say "my old" because the friend I borrowed the camera from bought a new and so gave me its old one). And as for the other picture (see them here and there), I had to spend a lot of time using NeatImage and Photoshop to suppress grain, to adjust exposure and colours with levels and curves and to enhanced the contrast with "contrast masking".

The lower part should have more detail but it's a very difficult shot. I f you take the light from the bottom, the middle would be too harsh. Therefore, you took the better option, IMO.

I think you deserve a smiley just for the effort you put in your text. It's great, almost a travel guide and I like that you included some other members photo in it.
Your photo is also good. I like the way the light works on this structure. Nicely done.

Nice shot. I like the dark blue night sky and the way the monument is lit up. The silhouette of the statue on top is also good. Well captured, at night! Excellent notes. Thanks for all the links.

Smart idea to make stangers discover Paris through your comment and illustrate it. And thanks for including some of mine...
That's a nice walk you made. One of the most beautiful in Paris. I like the tones of the picture. I love the warm colors it's made of and the details on the front wall of the monument.
