Photographer’s Note
Mona Lisa in Louvre. During my second visit to the Louvre Museum I didn't know what to shoot, so I had an idea to photograph people who have just photographed Mona Lisa, strugglig to leave the crowd. I was like another obstacle on their way....
again two photos. a broader view in WS

Hello Maciej,
Amicalement

A great take on a common subject. It just goes to show that the idea means more than the technical ability (not that I'm questioning yours!). The fact that this woman bears at least a passing resemblance to the Mona Lisa herself, really makes this a great shot.

Your interpretation of your shot is very original and funny. I like the expression you captured on the woman's face on the foreground. Well done.

I like this idea a lot.
The capture is at the right moment I think.
You did great in the choice of character.
Her face looks like this of a Renaissance painting.
Mona perhaps...

Maciej, this is a very beautiful and timely shot! Everything is very well defined up to the famous painting. You are just oon the right spot so that even through the crowd, it leads you to the painting. I agree with the other people commenting on the features of the woman with the face towards you.

Hi Maciek, good idea with photographing peoples, I can not understand why people are taking pictures of things that heve been photographed so many times and so good. Points for theme.

I've already said what I thought of this shot. i just love it, with the contemporary Monna Lisa escaping from the scene like she was fed up from all the attention she had gotten while she was a famous portrait.
Some people think that at the very moment of one's death, one's soul would come out of the body and flee away from it... This is what is happening there : Monna Lisa soul coming out from the painting and getting away from the frame.
you've been warned, people, there's nothing to look at anymore, only a flat dead painting, but no more soul...
It goes to my favorites. just a pity about the photo size, it's better viewed on pbase, more impressive.

i much prefer this shot to the other one...i like how the girl seems to struggle to get out of the crowd, once the photo is in the box;-) great lively scene!

You got an excellent sneak peak here! Because of the mob, nobody gets a good shot but you nailed it!! This is great. I should've seen your photo before I went there. I was shocked to see how little the painting is and the crowd surrounding this famous work!!
Great shot!

Wow,
Luko was right. he said this was Mona Lisa escaping from her case. I was expecting something so different, this is totaly not my expectation Maciek. This girl resembles the Mona Lisa so much that I would wander if this was not a cleverly staged shot. The fact is that Luko was right and this is one of the best little twists on Mona Lisa and Luvre photography I have ever seen. She is escaping!

Great eye here, Maciej - the Mona Lisa will never be the same again. The woman in the foergroung turning away is key somehow and , not wanting to ape Luko or anything, but that long nose and face remind one of...well a not-smiling ML.
Superb! Francis

Hi Maciej.
Very "funny" shot. I like all these people shotting Mona Lisa and this woman in other direction...good timing.
Excellent scene and perfect framing.
Very good idea.
Fred

What a very interesting picture, Maciej, It's horrific to think that it might be so hard to see the picture. Today is has become more of a tourist attraction than a work of art. I went to see it often in the 60s and there would often be nobody else there. You picture illustrates how, with imagination, one can make a picture out any situation > Regards Kevin

ahhh i see they have finish the new mona lisa room... when i was there no photos were allowed! but then it's impossible to stop those hungry photographers.
I keep thinking to myself why all the madness around mona lisa... it must be the most crowded place in the world

Looks like another guy was photographing you in the WS, did you notice that, lol.,
Great composition Maciej, i really appreciate this one..the lady at the front gives a dimension here.even if its crowded scene, nothing is overlapping so, that is also important..
Very nice work.

Very nice, it has a kind of strange stagey quality that I've seen before in Mr Bialy's photos, where the people seem like props for your picture. Of course the woman leaving is the best touch. If she only had shaved her eyebrows, she would be perfect! Very nice composition, very decisive moment.

Being so easy to get images of Mona Lisa, since Internet images until prints in fairs, I wonder what motivates people taking photos of it… Is it to say that they actually saw it? Strange…
This being said, I must say that this is a much better approach to the subject. You got Mona Lisa but in a context, rather than a painting standing in a wall.
The positioning of the woman is very nice and the side angle effect very good. She seems to be almost popping out of the frame. Great clarity, sharpness and colors.

hi maciek, how you doin'?
interesting shot... you know two years ago when i was in paris i took a shot exactly like this except i was standing on the left. i didn't like my shot too much though, i thought it was just an ordinary one anybody could take. but now that i look at your version it looks quite nice, maybe for the girl who's turning back, i didn't have anyone facing at my camera.
